Valencia, and now home once again

Tim has traveled alot due to his work and I, coming from a let's just say, colorful background, find it difficult being alone. So my two month stay in Spain was great, I got to be in a small setting with many loud, interesting, and overall great bunch of people. Yes, I am talking about my cool family. ;D
Now I'm home in a less sweaty atmosphere in a large house, with breathtaking views from every window. From last year's experience, I know our awesome summer house is going to turn into an icebox in a matter of weeks, so I will be enjoying every last minute of sunshine, and be friendly to the nice town folk, as we will be looking for a new home once again.
Fingers crossed that we will find a WARM, toasty house, in close proximity to Travis' school and public transport.
Till then, ciao!!

Haterade Detox Program..

People go on cleanses it seems like every other day. We put so much garbage into our bodies, that we need to go on these cleansing programs to rid ourselves of it. BUT, what if we ‘cleansed’ our psyche and attitude, and rid ourselves of the hate we consume ? It’s all around us, our peers, sometimes even our family, the tv, magazines, Facebook, and gossip sites. So if we could rearrange our whole life so that it didn’t affect us so much, what would it look like? It would look like good ol’ Benjamin Franklins virtues. Yes, he wrote a list of virtues… and it’s the perfect haterade detox, if we’re mindful of them each morning.
1. Temperance. Eat not to dullness. Drink not to elevation.
2. Silence. Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself. Avoid trifling conversation.
3. Order. Let all your things have their places. Let each part of your business have it’s time.
4. Resolution. Resolve to perform what you ought. Perform without fail what you resolve.
5. Frugality. Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself. Waste nothing.
6. Industry. Lose no time. Be always employ’d in something useful. Cut of all unnecessary actions.
7. Sincerity. Use no hurtful deceit. Think innocently and justly; and if you speak, speak accordingly.
8. Justice. Wrong none, by doing injuries or omitting the benefits that are your duty.
9. Moderation. Avoid extremes. Forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.
10. Cleanliness. Tolerate no uncleanness in body, clothes, or habitation.
11. Tranquility. Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable.
12. Chastity. Rarely use venery but for health or offspring. Never to dullness, weakness, or the injury of your own or another’s peace or reputation.
13. Humility. Imitate Jesus and Socrates.
Thanks good sir, for some thoughtful words. I hope more people can get the message behind them, and do a little detox of themselves.

New Year, new life

Hi everyone, since New Years is a good time to reflect and count your blessings I figure I will continue the thankfulness tradition. Sure, this year hasn't been without its share of ups and downs.  It seems like yesterday (actually a few years back..2010) we were on our own with nothing but a few euros to our name and have managed to save enough to make it a living and then some.  Through it all, and on a personal note, I like to think we've done well with the advantages we were handed. 2011 was a good year and I'm pretty sure 2012 will be even better.  So here is my thankful-for list.
  1. We are able to help those who have not had our luck, even though it isn't always much
  2. We are blessed with good health
  3. Travis has gotten out of his spoilt stage
  4. Hopefully we have accumulated a bit of ''wisdumb'' from our past mistakes
  5. We are financially independent and stable, and gosh, is that a great feeling!
a tired me,2011
Happy 2012 friends and especially family!
